2006 Mammoth Running Camp Collection : Canyon High School's annual summer running camp in the Mammoth Lakes area. 59 kids from the team were there along with some alumni, coaches and parents. This gallery is a mixture of all the activities during the 10 day's along with a few scenery pictures. Also check out the seperate gallery for the team time trial.

2006 Shady Rest Park Team Time Trial : After running as much as 140 miles in the past 9 days in Mammoth, the team had a time trial race at Shady Rest Park. The course is on trails surrounding the park, mostly dirt and rolling hills. Elevation is about 7600 ft and distance about 2.15. Temperature was very warm and dry during the race. A thundershower rolled through after all races were over. This year the team ran head to head races instead of the traditional relay's. Race winners were Anthony Pizzo (boys F/S), Christina Terracciano (girls JV), Adam Wims (boys JV), Wendy Cohen (girls varsity) & Stephen Kent (boys varsity). Jamie Mora (2002 alumni) ran all three boys races cruising the first F/S race and running the next two all out and winning both.

2005 Devils Postpile Area : These images were taken early in the morning to allow me to drive my truck down to Devils Postpile instead of the bus. The Devils Postpile valley area is in the shadows of Mammoth Mountain in the morning making for tough photography. All these pictures were taken RAW (NEF) to allow me to accurately adjust white balance and colors.

2005 Bridgeport's Twin Lakes Scenes : Scenes from the Bridgeport Twin Lakes area. Plenty of clouds and deep blue skies. We ran up to Barney Lake and back (10 miles round trip) and then the team ran up the switchbacks next to the waterfall for another 5-6 miles while I hiked that trail for some pictures.

2005 Mammoth Rock Trail Scenes & Views : Views of the Mammoth Rock Trail. This is a single track mountain bike trail which is also great for running and hiking. The trailhead starts on the Sherwin Creek Road in a semi-arid desert like area, quickly climbs through a forested area before going through the open area below the rock. Distance is about 3 miles from Sherwin Creek Road to the top. These images were taken mid-morning.

2005 Rock Creek, Mosquito Flats & Ruby Lake : The first two images are from the Lower Rock Creek near the top of the Sherwin Grade. The Rock Creek images near Mosquito Flats was very full of water and lined with flowers. All other pictures are along the trail to Ruby Lake using my compact Olympus camera.

2005 Rainbow Falls & Reds Meadow Scenes : These images show the area between Reds Meadow and Rainbow Falls. We had heavy thunder showers on the way there. All pictures were taken on the way out. This years heavy snow pack has made the steams and rivers very full. The falls were pretty intense. Nobody went in the water this year. Too dangerous. The heavy mist from the falls accumulated on my lens and blurred many of the pictures from down below. As seen from the forest shots, the fire from quite a few years ago is very slowly recovering.

2005 Shady Rest Park Relay Race : After running 100+ miles for many, the annual Relay Race was held in Shady Rest Park on the last day. The 2.15 mile course is rolling hills, mostly on dirt and an elevation of 7500-8000 ft. Brenda Cohen posted the fastest girls time while Stephen Kent ran the fastest boy's time of 12:32 (Alumni Tommy Werner ran 12:27 on a different leg than Stephen).
